The workshop is for anyone wanting to learn about and feel the benefits of mindful self-compassion, an evidence-based approach to cultivate skills of mindfulness and self-compassion. When experiencing difficulty in life - whether it is a relationship conflict, a mistake, or simply something as common as forgetting – do you tend to beat yourself up? By unleashing a stream of self-criticism towards yourself you add to the pain you are already experiencing. Research shows that practicing mindful self-compassion greatly enhances emotional wellbeing and provides inner resources to deal with everyday ups and downs as well as greater pains such as divorce and health issues It gives you emotional strength and resilience and helps reduce stress and anxiety. Being self-compassionate increases life satisfaction, happiness, optimism, creativity, and gratitude. It also helps you maintain healthy habits such as diet and exercise as it motivates you through kindness rather than criticism and judgment. It can actually change the way the brain rewires in response to life’s challenges, which means a stronger ‘immune system’ to difficulties. Mindful self-compassion is a capacity that can be learned by everyone.
